New Released: 40 Percent Increment Of Cash Prices For AFCON Games - CAF


 The Confederation African Football (CAF) has reported a 40 percent expansion in the award cash for the champ of the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Countries (AFCON) to be held in CΓ΄te d'Ivoire from January 13 to February 11.


The victor of the TotalEnergies AFCON CΓ΄te d'Ivoire 2023 will get $7 million as against the $5 million given to past champs, Senegal in 2021.


In 2021, CAF expanded the monetary reward for the victor from $4.5 million to $5 million while the subsequent best group got $2.75 million. Senegal won the competition interestingly in the wake of beating Egypt on punishments in the last.



This critical expansion in prize cash, as per CAF, is supposed to up the ante and strengthen the opposition, making the 2023 AFCON considerably more exciting for members.


The Leader of CAF, Dr Patrice Motsepe said: "CAF has gained critical headway throughout recent years in expanding the Award Cash of the AFCON and all its other significant rivalries. We have expanded the Award Cash of the AFCON Champ to 7 000 000 which is a 40 percent expansion from the past AFCON Prize Cash."



"I'm certain that a part of the Award Cash will add to creating football and furthermore benefit all the football partners, as well as help our Part Relationship with their organizations," he added.
